This morning woke to hear the terrible news that Mexico was hit with an Earthquake of 8.1 Magnitude, the quake struck the town of Pijijiapan just after midnight. The tremor was so strong it made buildings in Guatemala shake. The quake has killed at least six people and has caused damage to homes, schools and hospitals. In Juchitan in parts of the town hall, plus other buildings including a hotel and a bar were reduced to rubble.
The earthquake set off Tsunami warnings and now confirmed waves have been seen off the southern coast of Mexico. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said waves of 3.3ft (1 metre) had been measured off the port of Salina Cruz.
Now aftershocks ranging between 4.5 and 5.7 in magnitude have been reported so Mexico, I have been to Mexico twice and I loved the Country and to hear of this has broke my heart and my thoughts and prayers are with the beautiful people out there today.
