meeting new friends
I live alone in a small studio apartment near the lake in Chicago. When I was 8yo I was hit by a truck while riding my bicycle. My brain was damaged and I was in a coma for six weeks. I nearly died and in the coma, I HAVE been to the other side. This experience affects my life to this day.
I live on SSDI and my sister handles my money for me (I’m not so good at handling money). My brother-in-law tells me I’m smart but don’t have good judgment.
With SSDI for rent and other basic necessities, the weekly pocket money allowance my sister alots me, the Link food card, a food pantry nearby, and occasional part time work for cash, I just get by.
I was married for 10 years to Kathy and she is still my one true love. I’ll never find anyone to replace her but she told me before she died (of cancer at 43, 8 years ago) that she wanted me to find another love. I have a couple female friends (school days friends & ‘from the hood’). I’ve had a couple relationships since Kathy but have given up on finding a life partner right now.
I would like to find a female friend to communicate with ( anywhere in the world), like a pen pal I guess. I’ve learned how to text and email on my tiny government smartphone. I get up to 250mg text and email free but only 250 minutes a month of talk time. I would love to find an online friend to have polite, fun, and Christian conversation with. I’m texting frequently with a lady now but it looks like she’s really after money. I have enjoyed her but I have to stop, I think she is a golddigger. I’m kind of hooked on her but I have to break it off.
I love my guitar and a few of my friends in the building enjoy my music. I read a lot and really enjoy Edgar Allan Poe. I’m a regular at church, sometimes several times a week. I appreciate the Bible and get a lot of support from it . I have a brother and 2 sisters in Chicago get together for holidays and occasional other stuff. I have a membership to the Chicago Art Museum and go there once or twice a week. I really like the exhibits and people I’ve gotten to know there. Plus, they have a good FREE coffee for members. I drink lots of coffee… ‘the nectar of the gods’ (LOL).
