Ugh. I hate gimmicky questions. After all, if they just wanted to make conversation, they could have said something conversational. Instead, they make me responsible for coming up with a topic — and in the process, they protect their own privacy while expecting me to forfeit mine. However, I pride myself on my dignity and my good manners. I’m also capable of making cheerful and polite conversation. I’ll be gracious.

As my disability has progressed my husband has decided that it is too much (apparently that includes his teenage children as well). I love my children so much but I have been more and more isolated so it would be great to make some adult friends to converse with.
