Hi, my name is George A., I have cerebral palsy and quadriplegia. I am a Christian and use a power wheelchair. I like to use my computer and use a special mouse to control it. I enjoy meeting new people my age in the community. I am interested in participating in recreation, leisure, and fun activities. I have a younger sister and brother. Friends are important to me. I consider myself a self-advocate and like making my own decisions.
I have dreams of hosting weekly online meetings with my fellow Christians. We choose a chapter and verse in the bible to read. We work together to find topics to talk about for everybody that are interested and later have open discussions with our group.
I particularly enjoy dumping buckets of water on camp counselors at Recreation Unlimited in summer time. I’m interested only in platonic friendships. I like to talk and hangout with my friends. I would like to travel in the future. However, it is extraordinarily difficult to bring my equipment to use when I travel. I consider traveling to be one of my most cherished hobbies as I get so excited to see people I know from years ago.
I am a highly sensitive person, that has lost all but 1 family member in the past few years. I had a lot I was going to write down on here but decided not to. COPD, Gastroparesis, cervical spine disc degeneration, PTSD, to name a few. Going from 187 lbs down to 113 lbs is not a good thing. Which has me having to use a walker and sometimes a wheelchair now because I have become very weak from all the weight I keep losing. Getting old is no fun when you are struggling physically and emotionally 24/7.
