In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. I am housebound and live alone. Together, these conditions have resulted in mood swings. Often I feel depressed. I like to write about my experiences before and after my accident and to exchange views and thoughts on health and other issues with correspondents and on social media such as this one.
I have been here before on this app but I had deleted my account I created a new account now. I am a disabled person(Can't walk) and an introverted HSP Empath personality. I have a problem with focus but I am a quick learner and an extremely gifted person. I have also a problem talking to people and socializing and if I have been forced to talk I can't make eye contact. Sometimes my brain goes barren for days that I can't even think anything. But I am pretty good with this letter writing stuff, I think I have inaugurated enough of myself and even after that if you write to me and don't get a reply then you should know that that I am the problem here and there is nothing wrong with you. I know I am not so unique, neither a celebrity nor something like that. Still can't help myself i hope you'll understand.

Type of Disability
Multiple Sclerosis
I am 58 years old, have had MS for 15 years, plus a few minor strokes thrown in for good measure. I can still walk and drive, but get lonely even though I have a wife and daughter, as they get on with their own lives. Finally before you reach out to me, know that I live in the US and am a Republican and not a Christian.
Type of Disability
Blind / Sight Impaired
I have been a type 1 diabetic for over 50 years, and lost my sight to being a bad kid who thumbed her moon pie at all the doctors. I have lived most of my life in NY, and have been here in the sort-of-south, since my husband passed away, a few years ago. Wouldn't mind finding a worm hole to a shining moment, past or future. I do still enjoy all the good things like books, music, sharing a munch, having a good laugh, and of course, shopping, both in the flesh and in the ether. I greatly value courtesy, kindness and good humor--yes, I am a throwback to a lost age.

I'm friendly and easy to get along with. The biggest impediment to meeting new people is that my mobility is compromised - just like most people here, I assume! I share with you the isolation and loneliness the we experience. I have a wide range of interests and I think I am easy to talk to.
Type of Disability
Blind / Sight Impaired
My name is Julia and I come from Sweden. I am completely blind, but I do not let my disability stop me from accomplishing my goals. I use the computer with the help of a screen reading software called JAWS. This software translates everything that's on the screen into braille that I can then read with a special braille display that is connected to the computer. I have a Master's degree in Human Ecology. Generally, I am more of a listener than a speaker, but I always enjoy interacting with people and discussing a wide range of topics.

Hi there
I hope I find you well, and in the best of health.
Okay, so, long story short. I had an accident that has left me with limited to non-existent mobility, having to spend the duration of my life getting around in a wheelchair. Two choices, could let it defeat me and take me down a path of self-destruction, or embrace it and see that crap happens, you deal with it, and you move on. I’ve been blessed to have chosen the latter.
Look, it’s simple, most of us have lived long enough to know that in this day and age human connection is imperative. Whether it be through hearing a voice on the other end of a phone conversation, words in an email written only for you, or video calling just to see that smile. My point is, it’s easy to lose oneself in the matters of life to the detriment of taking things for granted, especially people.
I live my life with the belief that the measure of a person’s true worth is simply dependent on how we choose to treat one another. As humans we are gifted with the capacity to love, to laugh, to give, to receive, to deal with adversity and to basically just take care of each other.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out there’s always a conversation to be had!
You take care, keep safe, and stay beautiful :-)
God bless
Kindness,
Wintersfire

I have genetic disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It causes faulty connective tissues (found throughout multiple areas if the body) causing a wide range of issues including acute and chronic daily pain, difficulty with mobility, osteoathritis, dysautonomia to name just a few,.actually ;) I hope to be able to help others who might be new to this disorder (considered rare, but in fact is simply seldom recognized) Also I'd like to connect with a variety of people to share support and understanding for those whose lives have also become much smaller and withdrawn because of health issues.

Hi all! I’ve been in constant pain since I was 15, the vast majority of the time without any diagnosis. Despite this, I managed to graduate & have accomplished some pretty cool stuff as a freelance journalist, writer, & editor. I live in Austin TX w/my dogs.
Today I split my time between my own writing and my blog, janetjay.com, and working for a nonprofit that helps people in chronic pain
