I am not telling you
I hope your day/evening is going well. I am in search of a genuine pen pal. Is there anyone else out there searching for the same? Am hoping to correspond with anyone who understand that a person's ability has nothing to do with physical appearance. Am searching for a friend who will not just talk to you in a week and vanish afterwards. Although, we are in different time zones but i believe with trust, understanding and dedication we can make it.

I'm a 33 year old gemini with a BA in psychology. I'm Black and I'm from Harlem. I used to do some modeling and I used to have a lot of drive to be social psychologist but my disability really interrupted my education and drive. I got married in December 2022 to a wonderful dominican man I met in the behavioral health unit in harlem hospital.
I'm interested in finding a penpal to chat with about random life things hopefully anime/manga,90 day series/love is blind/ the ultimatum and FOOD (I love talking about weird things to eat). I want to talk to someone who overcomes their illness and people who don't. I'm open to a lot of conversation. I have an om tattoo because I used to be really into Indian spirituality. And my ex was Guyanese Indian and gave me an om necklace before he committed suicide. Anyway thanks for reading this! lol
Currently enrolled as a doctoral research scholar in Commerce. I am simple and open minded according to me. But I am contextual too and mostly behave up with the environment in which he is in. I love to make friends and like to travel. I don't have any specific criteria for friendship. I believe human is basically good and see the past as an opportunity to learn. To me error is human and the success depends on the ability to understand and correct mistakes. I usually stay optimistic. I try my best to stay assertive and will express my opinion fearlessly.
Evaluating myself is very hard, I think a better conversation can have a better understanding rather than a 300 word write up about self.

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. I am housebound and live alone. Together, these conditions have resulted in mood swings. Often I feel depressed. I like to write about my experiences before and after my accident and to exchange views and thoughts on health and other issues with correspondents and on social media such as this one.

My name is Rick and I invented the GO! Anywhere® Portable Shower Chair line to solve a problem I had that no other chairs on the market solved.
For nearly 36 years since my injury, traveling anywhere for more than a couple days posed some serious problems. On short trips I could stuff my non-portable shower chair into my van. Although I could usually get my chair over a toilet, rarely did I have access to a roll-in shower. I grew wary of the embarrassment from having a porter push my potty chair through parking lots and hotel lobbies. Like me, you’ve probably discovered that they are not easy to disguise.

I’m trying something new to connect with people whilst at the same time dealing with multiple health and disability issues. I am looking for penpals male or female not a relationship (been there done that – managed 25 years and in my current state a relationship is just not possible) I just want to connect with others that have to deal with what life throws at us and try to cultivate a much more positive outlook and hopefully have a few laughs along the way. My condition’s broadly fall under the heading of Autonomic Dysfunction. Along with all that that brings I deal as many others do with the dreaded duo of Depression and Anxiety. I am also agoraphobic to an extreme degree (I used to be outgoing and loved being around others prior to my health issues). I don’t do well with face to face due to my physical health issues and the anxiety and depression. I understand and can empathise with people that have had a ‘normal’ life before illness/disability and then the massive impact it has upon your life and how it affects you as a person. The way you have to adapt to a new way of living/doing things (Sadly I have two decades of this experience – I’m a vet as they say). I also understand what its like to go through surgery and manage chronic conditions that have daily monitoring and the interaction between health workers and the medical profession both the good and the bad. If your still reading I know thats a long intro and a bit ‘wooden’ but I just want to be honest and let people know beforehand where I’m at.
