I am level L2/L3. I used to be able to walk with braces and crutches. I have used a wheelchair full time since I was 13 years old. I moved out into my own apartment when I was 18. I used to be on SSI as well as be a part of VA Agent Orange program. I have not been on SSI or anything through Social Security since 2006. I will get the VA benefits for life but I also work full time from home. That became really important for me because I just spent the last two years really sick. I did not have Covid but that is all they focused on when I said I was having trouble breathing since December of 2019. In July of this year I ended up in the hospital where they realized the reason for having breathing problems all this time was due to pnuemonia. My left lung was about 70% filled with pnuemonia and they found that I also had carbon dioxide because of sleep apnea. It was a long road to recovery for the last several months but I am doing better.
I was in a long relationship that started in high school where we dated for 12 years and we were married for 8 years. I was single for about 3 years after my divorce. I am now in a relationship with someone who does not have any disabilities. He is loving and understanding of everything I go through. I could not ask for better. We travel around the state we live in. We explore sites and really enjoy life together. I am on here to make friends and have conversations that could help others with my experiences and learn more from other's experiences as well.
