For his whole life, Harrison Reilly has been labelled as different, due to his profound deafness, but, as he will share with us, Harry is so much more than that label. In his talk, Harrison aims to reframe ideas about disability, sharing some of his unique abilities as a result of his condition. He also shares how damaging it can be when a person with a disability is confined to that label by those around them in his truly inspiring and thought-provoking talk. As a local student, Harrison founded his website design company, Wolf Web Designs, with the passion of helping small businesses to share their creative ideas with the world and help them stand out from the pack. When he is not designing websites, he enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and helping people in his online communities and forums! He has dedicated many hours to community service and volunteer work throughout high school and university and strives to make an impact in his local community. Having been profoundly deaf his entire life, Harry is eager to share his experiences and insights into the world of deafness, showing that there is much more that meets the eye, or ear, in his case! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
