I'm 34 & have Addison's Disease. It's unstable & can't be cured. I spend a lot of time in hospital & black-out between 3&8 times every day. It causes a decreased level of consciousness regularly, extreme amounts of pain & weakness so severe that some days I cannot even reach for my phone or injections or lift a knife & fork. I've had to give up my job as a philosophy teacher & my active social life as a surfer too. I'm housebound most of the time now. No more travelling & backpacking with my surfboard anymore. I've somehow managed to meet the man of my dreams since becoming very ill & I'm in a wonderful relationship, but I'm still looking to make friends with people in similar situations, whose lives have been altered or turned upside down by illness & disability. It would be great to meet people who understand that the seemingly simplest of things is extremely difficult.
