Ablehere Christmas Ghost Story

We did so well I thought we could do a Christmas ghost story.

Here are the opening lines

It was Christmas Eve the old house looked cold and deserted, but there was a candle burning bright in a top floor window.
Sat huddled in an old bedspread trying to keep the frosty chill from her bones sat

a young girl, not more than 12 years old. She looked harmless,if you saw her in the street with other children she wouldn't stick out except for the fact she was a little dirty.
But she hid a dark secret and only the older adults of the street knew the secret and they are to terrified to tell anyone because they knew if they did it would cost them their lives.

The adults would huddle and mutter their misgivings but no one had the courage to sort out the child, if she needed sorting. Some doubted it. Others thought she was a fallen angel in human guise who had done terrrible things they said. Certainly she was disturbed. She sensed their reticence but the children treated her as another playmate. When the velvety darkness of night cloaked the world and most were in their beds, sleeping the sleep of the innocent she would go up the winding, cobwebbed stairs to the roof. On the walled canopy would be owls, ravens and weird creatures all squawking and ranting, howling and screeching, baying to the moon. A tanggle of evil and suffering. The little girl would watch their antics, mesmerised. It was a hynotic fascination and night after night she would return. She would huddle in her grubby,worn coat with shivers going up and down her spine.

But every year the night before Christmas Eve the candle would go out and the girl would disappear from the house. People would whisper coming up with their own conclusions for where she would disappear to. But one thing they all noticed was that several Children would go missing from the surrounding towns.

This girl was a reaper of souls, she took the souls of children who were about to
die this was so they didn't have to feel the pain of death and were not afraid, she would then lead them to the light

The girl was a good ghost who only wanted to help children like her not suffer with pain for too long, just as she did many moons ago. She was a live in the mid 60's when medicine wasn't as far ahead as it is today. She had been suffering with meningitis for a good three weeks but her mother didn't know that nor her G.P and just assumed it was the flu. But one night she was crying out to her mother who came into her room and found her beautiful daughter covered in a rash and coming in and out of consciousness. Her mother rang 999 and an ambulance was at her door within 10 minutes by then her beautiful daughter Abigail was in a coma. It took doctors a further week to diagnosis Meningitis but by then the damage was done and Abigail slipped away the following week.
