I'm not new, but have been through alot in the last3-4 years. My husband that had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and a year later End Stage Renal disease has now passed. It'll be 2 years this month since he's passed. For me in the last year I now have lost all my toes on my left foot and 2" in the same leg. I've had to have a skin graft to the foot because it was not healing. I am now hoping to get the staples out from the graft and then be fitted with a prothetic over the foot and a shoe to bring me back up to my normal height of 5'3". I don' know what is worse; being a widow or an amputee. Im trying to get my life back on track, but it hasn't been easy. I'm in a w/c right now and hopping on one leg with my walker. I'm hoping that I can find some new friends here to help me see that things will get better.
