New Drug Scheduling Laws in the US?

More

I read a brief article about the possibility of hydrocodone/acap (Vicodin) being rescheduled in the US so that it is more difficult to obtain for pain control. Laws would go into effect by 2014. Many of us are signing petitions and such to try and get the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to stop taking pressure from the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency). The DEA has failed in its war on illegal drugs, so the only way it can keep its arrest numbers up is to catch errors made by prescribing physicians to legitimate pain patients.

Of course, I wish everyone would see things my way, but as an American, I would hope that if you are a chronic pain patient or know one, that you get involved in this issue on one side or the other. I would prefer that my doctor, not a government agency, decide what I put into my body. But either way, I don't think this is something we should stay quiet about. Thanks for reading!
