Lopesan Costa Bavaro resort spa & Casino

It's taken me a while to get this review done due to the site upgrade so please forgive me!
The holiday was in early June. We where lucky at Birmingham Airport because we used the assistance we got fast tracked through all the mayhem!

We had a private transfer to the hotel which was nice because after a just under a 7hr flight we where both jet lagged and tired. The hotel was huge and our adapted room was on the 1st floor and close to the main buffet restaurant. Our room had it's own small slabbed area with a settee and table and chairs, we even had a friendly kitten that visited every day more about her later! We had 2 queen sized beds, our bathroom had a wet room with a bench to sit on while showering with a huge square shower head. The toilet had grab rails. It was a massive room, we where both happy. Getting around the hotel was easy loads of lifts, 6 swimming pools the main pool they played loud music all day so we stayed away from there!, 7 restaurants 2 being buffet, our favourites where the buffet and American which was called 'YOLO'! The food choices where amazing we where never stuck with what to eat!! The bars where endless, including a sports bar & English pub which where our favourite. The entertainment wasn't great they had to cancel a couple of shows due to torrential rain (it really came down!) the one show we saw twice 'the Michael Jackson show' the guy looked, sounded & danced like him it was a top show so needed to see it again!! The beach was what you would expect from the Caribbean white sand and crystal blue water, we spent our days on the beach as they had wooden slats on the beach that the wheelchair could go on, I even went in the sea a couple of times as we needed to cool off in the heat. Talking of weather it was super hot most days we're talking 36 - 38ocs, we had showers (heavy) 3 times and a few in the evening. The only gripe I have is for some reason they locked the disabled toilet doors all the time and if the cleaning lady isn't in the toilets then you couldn't use the disabled toilets! I got caught short a few times and had to use the ladies and park the wheelchair by the door. Other than that small moan the hotel was amazing! All inclusive, top brand drinks! The hotel staff and local people where so friendly, the American guests where so crazy about our accents, we stopped and talked to many American & Canadian guests. I would totally recommend this hotel if your going to the Dominican Republic, Bavaro.
