Disabled models needed was created by sarahcrippen
Hi everyone,
I'm based in Hertfordshire and a first year fine art student at Middlesex University. I am looking to photograph models with a visible disability that they are willing to show for a project that I am working on.
Age, sex, race etc not important.
Unfortunately I would be unable to pay you, but you would be provided with a copy of the pictures if you want.
if you were unhappy with the pictures there would be no problem with me not using them.
The project is part of my university course. I have chosen to photograph disabled individuals with an aim to examine others prejudices. I'm trying to show the beauty in all different sorts of people not just the commercially 'beautiful.' But I don't want to concentrate on the disability and ignore the people who have them. I want to show that people with disabilities are just as valid as people without them. I want to get images out there for people to see and not hide away from or ignore.
I will be taking digital photographs with a basic set up. This will not be a professional portrait shot, but rather photographs displaying the subject within a natural environment. I feel this will be more interesting for an art piece. There would be no nudity or distasteful images. I just want to make a direct statement on attitudes regarding disability.
Thanks for reading!
