Post Or Die

It appears on the face of things that Ablehere has become a Dating Site without knowing it.I say this for the following reasons...

1... Lots of able bodied single (so they say) men looking for disabled females....My only question of concern is WHY ?...Why would an able bodied guy join this site looking for a partner ,unless he has other unseen disabilities???

2..Apart from about 4 people ,no one posts on forum and with the exception of Gandra and yours truly there would be next to nothing...Well, cant see it going on much longer like this ...

3...Chatroom is hardly used for conversation unless a few regulars get in at the same time..

None of the above is said with Karl in mind..Thats one guy I have nothing but respect for..what he has invested time,cash and effort here ( with this site)is nothing short of magnificent.
All I am suggesting is giving the site some support and helping it thrive....Left as a Dating Location ,in my view,it will die xxxx :ohmy:

Karl is someone special, and I love him for who he is and for this wonderful site.

I have read of AB men who want to meet women with disabilities - can't remember what they are called but they seem to get their kicks out of being \"friends\" with girls/women with disabilities.

As if we are so desperate for a male \"friend\".

Or for being so grateful that a man would want to have sex with us.

Sorry - no I'm not sorry for being honest.

I love this site and will do all I can to keep it going. Because I think we need it.

Maybe I should say that the site is necessary for us, and it would be such a shame if it was just a dating site, with ABs just looking for girls with disabilities who would be so grateful for an AB \"boyfriend\".

After reading the previous post, what these guys are saying is so true. I've seen some good disabled/chat/forum sites close over the past years, it's so sad.
After helping out at another disabled site for a year or so, trying to keep the chat/forums going etc is very time consuming, but fun if you have a heart that is,unfortunately our site closed a few months ago,believe me the people who cared and didn't use it as a playground really do miss it, as these guy's say people just seem to be searching for their partners, its not a dating site. I think people try and use it as a dating site because its free. just remember Karl has made this site for people to have fun and enjoy a natter. So guys why not use this site properly and have some respect for Karl. I know Karl will be paying to keep this site running, and you guys are able to use this site for FREE.

Maybe I should setup a free dating site. I was thinking about this idea afew months ago. But I am bit busy lately.

ppl can date each other on this site aready by going into chat room or using the private message thing
I agree with Kanga Grunda and Tony

disabled ppl moan they have no where to express there views
no site where pppl can understand there concerns
that because of there disablities they can not get out to talk and have a laugh with ppl
this site was set up by Karl for all thos reasons and a lot more
if this site dies you only have yourselfs to blame
I come on here see there ore over 40 to 50 ppl signed in yet nobody goes to the forum and puts up there views or even botheres to do chit chat
this site was and still is a godsend to me
through it I have made friends learnt to typ and use the compt also to spell better
it has giving me the confedence to say what I want to say and realise that what I went thro with all the heartache and Pain was not my fault that I was still me and that I could get back waky hummor and that I was not a FREAK which was what I was MADE to feel like ...members on this site UNDERSTOOD what I was trying to say and gave me support
through this site I have been able to start putting the past behind me which was bloody horrendiouse
for that I thank you Karl for get this site started and thank you to the members who did join in the forum or send me wee messages when I felt daft not knowing how to work this site out

i do admite i have been one of those people thats not been posting... and i do apologise for that (so sorry) and i do see what a great site this is and how much it helps people... as it has helped me so much also and i dont want to see this site or the peope thats part of it just be to forgotten. people on this site has be so kind and understanding and accepting and i feel like i just kinda thrown that back in thier faces and i am sorry for that. i want to try and get back to the site and try and make more of a commitment to being part of it again.

Emma Sweetness...Every now and then in our lives we have to direct all our energies in a particular direction...Thats not neglecting other things ( like this site or friends) its more a case of dealing with challenges face-on...No need to apologise for that...we have all been there xxxx
