My back hurts. OK so my back always hurts, but this time it's bad, Really bad and is making breathing difficult. Could press my emergency button I guess but what will happen? A doctor will come round and say \"hospital\". And they will dump me in the ER and do bugger all.

Can't leave Pereg so sod the emergency doctor

Gandra hun..this might sound stupid...but it often works for me...
Lay down on your bed...back on the bed..and when your ready allow your legs and upper thighs to dangle without touching the floor...the weight is not massive but has the effect of gently stretching the spine..Do this for as lng as you feel comfortable xxxx ;)

Wasn't stupid Tony - I knew I needed to get my spine stretched as due to various things I'd been on my feet, propped on my forearm crutches, for far too long. And my spine had just gone crunch crunch crunch.

Sort of sorted now but did it the opposite way, flat on my face on my [high] bed with my legs dangling over the side.

Still bad but not so bad.

I just get so pee'd off when someone says \"oh my back is killing me\" and they just don't have a clue. There is someone I know from a different Forum who has been off work because he \"hurt his back\". Has had some titanium wotsit put in now, which has cured the problem, but can't go back to work because they kept giving him morphine and now he's addicted to it.

And he only had a minor bad back but played on it so that he could get off work and on full pay.

Tony - how many times have I posted and moaned about pain? Can't really think of any, but believe me, this was really bad. Still is but I'll cope, because I have no alternative.

And the sodding doctors and experts say what are you complaining about? You are a permanent wheelchair user so why bother to get on your feet? You have a mobility scooter [which I had to pay for in full as we don't get help for them here] so why complain?

Stuck in your home? Too bad. Need a new wheelchair? Buy it yourself.

Back hurts? What do you expect with a shattered spine, so don't come crying to us because you are in pain. Take morphine, oh, sorry, you are allergic, well just take paracetamol instead.

I Hate The So Called Experts.

Back not too good again today but I'll survive. Having mild hysterics about the person I mentioned who had a bad back - off work on full pay for a year, had an op recently but oh dear, can't go back to work because he's now addicted to morphine.

Tony - I hate people who say \"my back is killing me\" because they haven't a clue what a really shattered back is like.

Anyhow, I'm now going to take Pereg out for another gallop - might as well get some use from the new Monster scooter of mine.

Might be back later. Might just give up on this Forum again - you know why.

But I'll still luvya Tony.

You know that saying that a person doesn't know what life is like until they have walked in someone else's shoes for a while?

That's what you have and yes, I do know what your condition is.

What really gets me is the \"oh well, you are in a wheelchair so why are you complaining\" and they don't understand that being in a chair will stop the pain. Only I don't complain.

I just sit here and read someone saying \"my back is killing me\" and I think oh no sunshine, you do not have the slightest idea what read back pain is like.

I have just taken Pereg out for another gallop and on the way called in to visit my first student on this Moshav - she has a 2 year old daughter and now a new baby son - and she brought him out for me to have a cuddle.

Don't feel such a useless person when someone feels confident to let me hold and cuddle their newborn.
