I've lost my identity! was created by
Actually I haven't but the CD/DVD tray on my tiny shiny black box of a computer stuck. So my computer guy, who builds my computers, came to have a look.
Took off the case, hadda look and said hey, looksee at that.
Magnifying glass later I think I see what he is pointing at. A somethingorother which woz slightly rounded at the top wot was rong - shoulda bin flat.
Capacitor. Ah yes. Knew I'd remember the name sooner or later.
Right. So dodgy capacitor means motherboard fecked, but motherboard still under guarantee so not so fecked after all.
Only what does Gandra do wivvout a computer? She climbs up the feckin' walls.
Right. So just over a week ago up turns computer guy wivva henormous computer to loan me while he sorts mine out.
Bleedin' fing is so big it asta sit on it's side on the shelf.
And of course it hasn't got any of my stuff on it.
AND IT'S WINDOWS 7 and I'm used to Windows XP Pro.
Right. Found and downloaded/installed Mozilla Firefox, from which I could find, download and install Mozilla Thunderbird.
And so on and so forth.
However, of course all my feckin' passwords are stored on my own computer and I could only remember a few. DOH.
And I hated, loathed, detested Windows 7. For all of two days, most of which had been taken up by me looking for, finding, downloading and installing stuff.
Guess what. Computer guy has my little tiny shiny black box of a computer back, complete with new motherboard, and he has applied for a licence for Windows 7, and when he gets that he will get the software and install it in my computer.
Hopefully he will be able to transfer everything I have on it from XP Pro to Windows 7 and if he can't then I will shoot him.
So.
There I was, wanting to get on this site, and oh shit, not conhookdid was I, as this isn't my computer. And my password is on my own computer. And I couldn't remember with which email address I am registered here.
Umm, err. Am I here now? Only I'm gonna lose it when I get my own computer back. Or maybe not.
Just thought I'd post a quick 'ello.....

You think I'd be spending my dosh on getting the licence and software for Windows 7, and paying for it to be installed if I didn't?
I went from I hateit I hateit to I wannit, I wannit in less than 48 hours!
The thing is that XP will be obsolete in the not too distant future, Windows 7 has been out for a couple of years so all initial bugs are, or should be fixed, and it will probably be another few years before Windows 8 comes out.
And it has definite advantages over XP which I like.

Windows 7 is better then vista, I have windows 7 on my laptop but my desktop is XP. I prefer XP. Even Tesco's network system is on XP.
Before you buy a laptop, email me, I will give you a voucher to get money off.
