New GP set up

I don't know about other GP surgeries but mine has this new set up for dealing with enquires. Instead of the local area phone number it now has the national phone number, a 0844 number which brings you to automated questions which you answer with numbers (1,2,3,4) :blink: .
And you can make appointments by talking to the automated voice!
You only get to the human receptionist by saying you want to talk to the receptionist, which takes a good 5mins by going through the automated maze!!
I maybe the only one but when I want to arrange an appointment or need to ask a question regarding my health I want to talk to a human not a computer!
And when you eventually get to arranging your appointment with your doctor that becomes another mine field. I don't know about everyone else but I prefer to see one GP because that way it's easier when it comes complicated health history like mine!
So when you come to ask about arranging dates and you find your GP is away it becomes harder. I have 10 GP's at my doctors surgery and out of that 10 I think maybe 3 know my medical case history! And today when sorting out an important appointment 0 of those doctors where available!! It is crazy! What is the NHS coming to?
