How did Buddhism begin
"Roughly 2,500 years ago, Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, adan-doned his life as a prince in india to seek a means to end human suf-freing. This qust led him to attain enlightenment, awakening to the true nature of life. He dedicated the remainder of his life to teaching others to achieve the same state of enlightment. His teachings cul-minated in the Lotus Sutra, which elucidates the eternally present Buddha nature inherent in all life."
