Turning off chat function

I know someone asked this a while back, but I've forgotten how to do it. I'd like to read the forum w.o. annoting chat box poppping up!

If you go to the chat box at the bottom of the page and press it, go across to the wheel looking prompt and it will say chat options press that and a box will appear in the middle of the page. Move to the red circle that says 'turn off chat' press that and it will turn off your chat.

I;ve come on line tonight and there is no chat function! How do I get it back?

We have removed the chat room from on the forum and mail box due to people not wanting to chat live while on the forum and in their mail boxes. But you can do it everywhere else.
