Dating with a disability is hard as hell (which
I wrote about
, but I'm sure it isn't news to anybody here), but there's a whole different raft of issues when you get into a relationship with someone, whether one or both of you have disabilities. It's doable, but it takes a little extra work and a little extra awareness. Because I am planning a future with someone (we just got engaged!), I want to make sure we have a healthy relationship from the outset, yknow? So I did a bunch of research on the subject and, as is my way, wrote a
blog post about relationships with chronic pain
and other disabilities. I'd love to hear from anybody with more advice on this subject, ESPECIALLY if you've been with your partner for a long time. No part of this is easy, but if we share our experiences, we can at least learn from each other! In that vein, hopefully this helps someone!
