AMI award winning Clubbing It - An introduction
This hard hitting, entertaining documentary was made by young disabled people from the Ability Media Centre in Southwark, London UK. Thirty young disabled filmmakers investigated how other young people with disabilities go out to clubs and enjoy their nightlife. The film follows a group of people who have a range of disabilities and impairments and explores the impact on their night out. Clubbing It was awarded the Ability Media New Talent Award for this insightful and entertaining documentary, created with humour and wit. Clubbing It was also broadcast on the Community Channel on Dec 5th as part of the Mediabox special in support of internatioal disability day with a season of programmes highlighting how disabled people survive and thrive.
