Can somebody in the U.S.A. explain MEDICAID?

Medicaid is government health coverage for people who cannot afford any type of medical insurance. I'm not sure what the income cut off is, but generally, if you qualify for food stamps, welfare or ssdi, you will qualify for Medicaid. You will pay small copays for various services and medications.

You cannot buy Medicaid. You have to qualify for it. It is run by the government. You go see your doctor and they bill the government for the service they provide. The government reimburses them.

I short, it is universal health care for the poor.
