People with diabetes may soon be able to take a pill to control the disease instead of needing several daily insulin injections.

A British company will report at a conference in the US today that it has developed a form of insulin that can be taken by mouth, which it believes will provide better control of symptoms.

Long overdue I say

Do you have or know somebody thats diabetic and has to inject?

I am diabetic and inject insulin twice daily. There is also meant to be an inhaler type being introduced too.

Long, long overdue

Looks like drinking a pint (of milk) a day cuts diabetes risk

Drinking a pint of milk a day may protect men against diabetes and heart disease, say UK researchers.

It'll certainly be an improvement on the selection of horse pills offered as an alternative now. The only problem with Insulin in general is that it sends the public, insurers and the DVLC into spasms, believing that you are going to go round on the verge of keeling over! As for the milk, it seems only yesterday that the food police were telling us to avoid it. Ditto butter eggs.
