Alfonso Willis of Orlando was arrested for the illegal use of a disabled parking permit.
As we first reported on Friday, the Orlando Police Department is cracking down on people using handicap permits that do not belong to them.
On Saturday, they got one.
Alfonso Willis, 20, of Orlando, was arrested for fraudulent use of another's disabled permit in a city lot on Garland Ave. An OPD bike officer observed Willis park in a disabled space with a placard hanging. The disabled placard had a birth year of 1965.
No one in Willis' vehicle was that old. Willis admitted to the officer that the placard belonged to his father and that his father was at home.
According to the arrest affidavit, Willis didn't understand why he was being arrested. He argued the placard allowed him to park in disabled spaces, even though no one in his vehicle was disabled.
