I have dementia. Not of the Alzheimer's type. It's an inherited type. My mother lived with it for 15 years before passing away from a head injury. I'm progressing slowly as my mother did. And I'm praying it will go that way for me. My mother could still handle her finances up until a few years before her death. My point of all of this explanation is this: to explain that I function very well. I just have issues that most people don't have. And they go far beyond just forgetting things. BUt life is good. I'm blessed! I love being around and talking to friends but since I can't drive anymore I crave conversing with others of my age group.I have a BS, I'm a retired 4-k teacher.

I’m often described as somebody who is outgoing and who knows what they want in life. I am a bookworm, who reads pretty much any crime fiction I can lay my hands on. Other hobbies include cooking. In fact, I experiment in the kitchen most days and am always looking to try out new recipes. Religion is a huge part of how I live my life. I’m a Muslim. I am currently in my second year of an English literature and creative writing degree. The plan is to teach afterwards.
