The trouble in the early times is..it makes you feel tired and the pain is restrictive.I was told to rest...which is now decided, the worst thing...He needs to keep his joints moving as much as possible...Not so much strenuouse exercise ,more erobic.Swimming is great and if he can go about four or five time a week it will keep things at bay a bit......The next thing is to contact a real specialist....Get him enrolled with NASS (national ankylosing spond. society)....If possible get a referal to Dr Calin at The Royal Rheumatology Hospital,Bath.....They do wonderful things there..all on the NHS xxxxx;)
Also worth looking at is get him taking cod liver oil tablets..they will kick in after about three months...make sure he sticks with it......Then the big thing....Get his doctor (hospital specialist)to get him on weekly injections of Embrel (itas a wonderful drug and helps mobility and reduces pain to a bearable level xxxxx;)
