when you tell your children and grandchildren, what you could do with 10 shillings which is 50p today they are astounedIf someone had said in those days that the cost of a loaf of bread would rise to over £1, we would have thought they were mad.:blink:
also when decimals come in you could still get more for you monny than today even tho the pound lost half its value
I can remember wilson saying the pound in your pocket is save knowing that it was a lie :dry:
