Heres the lady that wrote this song. There have been other versions by other people. (The amy Winehouse rendition is very memorable imho). Carole King.

The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain covered Life on Mars by Bowie. Bowie was associated with the late Lou Reed. Lou wrote 'Satelite of Love' - also covered by the UK Uke Orch. Here's the original.
