Thanks bubba, some of these have been posted on another forum where I asked same question.
If you scroll down and read small print the first (vehicle breakdown( is limited to 10 miles, 1stchoice does better at 20 miles, ETA i looked at. AGAIN a limit of 15-20 miles.
I'm going to be investigating further the AA, RAC and motability but given my daughter in isn Lancaster, my boyfriend is in London, I am often 100's miles from home. There must be an answer, personally I reckon these companies have you over a barrel!

Your properly right they do have you over a barrel so you have to pay extra for being further away. Got you trapped.
