It's hot again. It's always hot. It just seems hotter than normal, but whatever is normal supposed to be?

When I first came here I thought hey, this is great. Left a cold English summer and came to glorious heat with the beach just down the road.

I'm a few kilometres further from the beach now, about 15 minutes away by car [which I don't have] and somehow wheelchairs and beaches don't really match, do they, and every summer the heat hits me more and more.

But I'm not supposed to complain about the heat as I tend to complain about the cold in the winter!

Incidentally, that's Junior Dog in the photo. Some small puppy she turned out to be. Not!

Removing your thermals?

Actually I must admit to having just bought a pair of Ugg Emu short boots to wear as slippers in the winter...

...only winter won't be here for months yet.

Oh, and I still have the thermal undies I bought in BHS before I came here, 25 summers ago. And yes, they are still doing fine, in spite of yearly wear each \"winter\".

Happy Sunday everyone.

BHS out of business? Oh my ears and whiskers. Shows how long I've been away from the UK!

My sleeveless thermal vests [hush my mouth, that is TMI] cost 50p and the long sleeved ones cost 90p.

But that was a l o n g time ago.

Erm, no. Me never went out on a Saturday 'cos it not permitted.

Can't remember ever going to a club.

What is/was a club?

Remember shillings though - used to get sixpence pocket money when I was eleven and went to grammar school.

Was a l o n g time ago though.

But I do remember a lot of other stuff...

Good morning Tony, although it still feels like the middle of the night for me.

It is coming up to 8.15am here and even with the fan in my bedroom on full, all three windows wide open, it was 'ot. I'm now up, obviously, with both fans on in the salon, and oh oh oh for air-conditioning, which is impossible in these concrete boxes in which I live.

But one can hope, can one not?

Does NW London mean anything to you? Like Hampstead Garden Suburb? Only that's where I went to grammar school.
