"Whaddayadoforraliving?"

I run into this every single time I date someone. "What do you do for a living?"

I tell them I bust my behind working on my free site and I work hard on dealing with issues.

Or I tell them I don't have a job now.

Or I tell them I would rather not talk about it.

Either way, they leave me. Because I don't "earn" my money.

I know better than to consider myself worthless; they are the ones who lost me.

Still, it hurts. I am afraid I might be alone for the rest of my life because of people's shallowness and ignorance.

Who needs someone who is shallow and ignorant anyway Carol. Best you find out sooner rather than later who is who.
Just continue doing the good that you do, keep believing in yourself. One day someone great will come along, someone that is deserving of a special person like you. x
