meeting new friends
The heavy brainstem hemorrhage I suffered from July 16, 2008 left me quite impaired. Can't properly walk, balance is gone for good, couldn't swallow for two and a half years, now I can! right side is plegic, (used to be right-handed), became left-handed, wheelchair user, sight's impared, and I won't get into too many details here, hearing's impared too, though only a bit, speech was gone for a while, now it's back, though my voice is not anymore as it used to be. I am looking for friends to write/talk to on Skype, and share experiences...(I'm still possessing excellent thinking capabilities).
visual arts, creative writing as well as reading a lot! (+ or - 25 books a year), used to be some of my strong interests; sadly, due to a massive visual decrease, the above mentioned interests and hobbies lost some of their appeal, (and I went kind of bizerk! Will have to tackle my problems once and for all and find a way out). I speak 4 foreign languages fluently, love music, nature...
drawing as well as painting unfortunately lost their appeal too listening to music...
Come to terms with this new state of things, feeling free and in peace
classical: BACH,CHOPIN,BEETHOVEN,BRAHMS...; hard rock:PJ,WHO,R.E.M.,PINK FLOYD, BOB DYLAN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, JIMI HENDRIX, SANTANA, ANIE DI FRANCO, THE INDIGO GIRLS, PATTI SMITH, LEONARD COHEN, THE BEATLES of course,...In a word, what I call "good music".
Steven Spielberg's, the Cohen brothers', Hitchcock's, I Fratelli Taviani's movies...
Personally, I'd rather dump the telly as it is, saving only BBCs documentaries and a few good TV crime serials.
Jane Austen, V. Woolf, Tolstoy, V. Hugo, Arto Paasilinna, books about mountaineering, history books, biographies...
any person with a disability who manages to live to the full. I still have so much to learn...Buddism here migh come in handy...
used to be the mountains and wild environments where I used to feel at home
My Penpal
Hi everyone, feel free to email me if you think we have common interests. First check my profile though. I feel good whenever I can lend a hand. Just give me an opportunity to do it. Gender, age, race, or credo don't make any difference to me. Neither does your disability. Talk to you soon
