meeting new friends
I have been a type 1 diabetic for over 50 years, and lost my sight to being a bad kid who thumbed her moon pie at all the doctors. I have lived most of my life in NY, and have been here in the sort-of-south, since my husband passed away, a few years ago. Wouldn't mind finding a worm hole to a shining moment, past or future. I do still enjoy all the good things like books, music, sharing a munch, having a good laugh, and of course, shopping, both in the flesh and in the ether. I greatly value courtesy, kindness and good humor--yes, I am a throwback to a lost age.
I love audio books, primarily mysteries, but admit to enjoying romance, gothics and lots of series.Love films, especially the old classicslike Rosemary's Baby, The Third Man, and many others from the last century. I also love all kinds of music, and my tastes remain in constant flux. I am into a daily workout on an elliptical, when I get to really howl out to all tthose MP3S.
Working out, shopping, goofing around on the web, eating up the world with my ears.
Well, I'm having coffee and granola for breakfast.
Love it all, not too crazy about the classics, or polkas. Some favorite songs: Touch and Closer Still (long version), by Wolfsheim, Far Away and Follow Me by Royal Hunt, The Gospel of John Hurt by Alt-J, Last Tango in Paris (Ballad) by Gato Barbieri, Feeling Good by Nina Simone, Knock Me a Kiss by Louis Jordan, Wish I Knew You by the Revivalists, Heathens by Twenty One Pilots, Barefoot by K.D. Lang
Blade Runner, the Quiet Man, Chariots of Fire, Inside Man, Thelma and Louise, Silence of the Lambs, The Exorcist, Chinatown, To Kill a Mockingbird, North by Northwest, and Cabaret. Yeah, a film fiend.
Dexter, the Odd Couple, Fringe, the original Hawaii 5O, the Prisoner.
Rebecca by DuMaurier, Drop City by Boyle, The Murder Artist by Case, Beneath the Wheel by Hesse, Sailing to Byzantium by Silverberg,Spillover by Quammen, and that great intellectual favorite, The Cat Who Came to Breakfast, by Braun. I am a voracious listener!
my mother and father; they were always there for me and they never let me down.
the unchangeable landscape of my childhood, which now resides only in my mind
