I am an RN and a repeat cancer survivor/warrior diagnosed with PNES which has changed my abilities to live life as I once knew it. I am the mom of 3 beautiful children (2 are grown). I grew up on the Outer Banks of NC but relocated to Oregon in 2015. My seizures limit my ability to drive and have made me leery of public encounters. I'd like to 'meet' new friends and perhaps feel less isolated. I value honesty, a sense of humor, intelligence and kindness above all else. I hope there might be others that feel the same.

I am RJ, an inventor, technologist, and student of human behavior. I have devoted my entire life to finding customized solutions to solve the mobility, communication, and quality of life challenges, faced by all ages, with any special needs. My interest in the field of 'Assistive Technology' began over 30 years ago, when I was studying to become an electrical engineer at the University of Utah. When I began my career, not many people realized the potential technology would have on the lives of those with special needs. My love for people and my interest in special needs drove me to also pursue a Bachelor's in Developmental Psychology from the University of California-Irvine and a Master’s in Education, concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder, from Arizona State University.

It is hard for me to find joy in life because I feel heartbroken and helpless. I don’t think anyone can love me. Sometimes I can’t enjoy what would normally make me happy. I am looking for emotional support and I want to get help.
I have had M.E. for 5 years and am mostly housebound, although I can get out about once a week if I'm well enough. I'm engaged and am getting married in December 2014. I'm mummy to Buddy the Chihuahua :)

It would be nice to have someone who would enjoy going to places together and of course trying out local eateries. There's nothing like a good dinner and then going for a walk with a great companion at sunset! But it's give and take too, and I won't complain when you take me along shopping at the mall or while I sit in the waiting room when you get your nails done. :) I understand that being together is the most important part of a relationship no matter what we are doing (besides communication, of course).
I'd like to think I'm a simple-no baggage guy. I have a great career, but my biggest weakness is probably i love the hard.I'm now looking for a relationship, but I'm not looking to jump into anything without getting to know someone first. I've never been married, so I'm pretty sure it won't kill me to take things slow and make sure we are compatible.
