Poet's Corner

Our generals were up for a fight
But the soldiers were chary
Of their leadership wary
Who'd been on the vino all night.

Family

I never thought I would have a family
after illness took that away
the empty feeling inside of me
I felt it every day.
But now I have a family
different to many others
but it fills my heart with glee
as in some way I've become a mother!

I too detest poets
usually other poets
but on a bad day
I beat on me too
before some other poet do.

Happiness

Happiness is what we thrive,
a smile,the joke that makes you laugh,
The warm feeling you get inside.

Your smile can pass to someone else,
spreading happiness to others around,
Happiness is drug that can help take pain away,
maybe for a minute,an hour or a day.

First day of your life
From the minute you take your first breath
I will be there,
From the moment you open your eyes
I will be there,
I'll be your protector,your teacher,your everything
because you will never realise how much love you bring.
